Constitution Day Rally to Restore Second Chances

  • The Office of Governor JB Pritzker & the Illinois Department of Human Rights 555 West Monroe Street Chicago, Illinois, 60661 United States (map)

Article 1, Section 11 of the Illinois State Constitution declares that the objective of incarceration is “restoring the offender to useful citizenship.” At the same time, Illinois has sentenced thousands of individuals to death-by-incarceration, with no opportunity to rejoin their families and communities via Earned Reentry.

Join Parole Illinois, Citizens for Elder Parole, and advocates from across the state this Constitution Day (September 17) for a peaceful demonstration against extreme sentencing in Illinois.
